The P180 Avanti is one of the world's fastest twin turboprop aircraft and was developed by Italy’s Piaggio.

This distinctive eleven-passengers airplane is pressurised, very fuel-efficient and may be flown by one or two pilots. It features a large cabin and three lifting surfaces—a main wing, T tail, and a foreplane located near the nose of the aircraft.

The beautiful and original styling Avanti fleet now is more than 200 aircraft strong, with a variety of Italian and worldwide operators.

The lifting surface at the front of the airplane is not a canard, at least not according to Piaggio Aero. It is, instead, a forward wing.  The difference between the two, they say, is that the forward wing, while a lifting surface, is not a controllable one. There is no "elevator" in it; hence, it's not a canard.
